Learning With A Side Of Soup – Every Thursday 4:30 t0 6:30p @ Napi Friendship Centre/Brighter Futures
The Napi Friendship Centre and Bright Futures Pincher Creek have partnered together for this family-focused tutoring program. Every Thursday, parents can bring their grade 4 to 12 child to get some homework help upstairs, while parents and little ones can check out the Brighter Futures playroom downstairs for some learning and fun. Soup is provided for all and food and programming are also free… All families welcome!!!

WINTERVENTION 2018 – CROWSNEST CAN DO SOCIETY

Friday, February 22

  • Wintervention Market – 2:00 p.m., Elks Hall, Blairmore
    Join everyone from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Elks Hall in Blairmore for some good eats, live music, artisans, and more! Please bring a donation for the food bank as your entry and don’t forget your market bag!

Saturday, February 23

  • Fun Run – 9:30 a.m., Starting at the Elks Hall in Blairmore
    Bring a friend and join the 5km run or walk around Blairmore! The Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Elk’s Hall and there will be post-run prizes and. WE WILL RUN IN THE SUN, RAIN, SLEET OR SNOW! Please note that this is a fun run and your time will only be recorded in your mind. Also, there will not be any traffic control or aid stations – you are responsible for your own well-being.
  • Music in the Lodge & Bonfire – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Ski Hill Lodge, Blairmore
  • Frying Pan Toss – 10:30 a.m., Public Art Gallery, Frank
    Come join the fun in the annual fry pan toss at a new location! Come to the Crowsnest Pass Art Gallery in Frank at 10:30 a.m. and either watch the frying pan toss or participate. to participate please check-in upon arrival.
  • Chili Bowl, CNP Allied Arts Association – 11:00 a.m., Public Art Gallery, Frank
    On Saturday, February 23 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (or until all the chili is gone) you can choose your favorite handmade pottery bowl, fill it with chili, eat it with a bun and some homemade cookies, and enjoy! You even get to take your bowl home after! It is all first come, first serve and costs $15, kids 10 and under are $10.
    Come to the Crowsnest Pass Public Art Gallery and enjoy your chili!
  • Crowsnest Crokicurl – 12:45 p.m., Crowsnest Rest Area @ Crowsnest Lake
    Come join everyone for a new event during Wintervention, Crokicurl! This event is as it sounds and will be played on ice on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-4:30 p.m. on the Crowsnest Lake. It is outdoors so please dress accordingly, If poor weather hits us the event will be moved inside.
  • Human Dog Sled Races, Sponsored by PPK & CNP 40Assets – 1:00 p.m., Ski Hill Lodge, Blairmore
  • Crowsnest Cando, Dinner/Dance/Silent Auction – 5:30 p.m., Elks Hall Blairmore
    Saturday’s Wintervention all winds down with the annual Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction put on by Crowsnest Cando! Get your tickets soon because they sell fast! The theme is “The Fifties” and you can purchase your tickets at Servus. Come have some fun at the bash!

On Wednesday the 27 join the Town of Pincher Creek in Pink Shirt Day! Pink Shirt Day was created for everyone to wear a pink shirt to raise awareness of bullying and to stand up against it. 2019 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARDS – ORDER OF THE CROWSNEST PASS

Do you know a volunteer in the Crowsnest Pass community who could use a little recognition? Nominate them for the 2019 Order of the Crowsnest Pass Volunteer of the Year Awards! This award has been presented annually since 1983 to an individual that exemplifies outstanding dedication to volunteer in our community. This year there is even an Outstanding Youth Award that recognizes a youth between 12 to 18 years old who has made positive contributions to the community on a volunteer basis. The winning youth will go home with an award of $1,000 Scholarship!
Deadline to make nominations is March 13, you can find nominations forms at the Community Services Department located at MDM Community Centre.
